Luc Frieden, born 1963, serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg SA (Luxembourg's oldest bank) since 2016. He is also Chairman of the Board of St Paul Luxembourg SA, a Luxembourg media group. In the fall of 2016, he will also be visiting professor in law at the University of St Gallen, Switzerland.
From 1998 to 2013, Luc Frieden was a cabinet minister in the Luxembourg Government (Minister of Justice; Minister of Treasury and Finance).
After leaving Government, Luc was Vice Chairman of Deutsche Bank Group in London and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank Luxembourg. Prior to his career in politics, Luc worked as an attorney in Luxembourg.
Luc Frieden graduated in law from the University of Paris I, the University of Cambridge and Harvard Law School.
He is married with two children. Luc speaks fluently Luxembourgish, English, French and German.
